Refunds, cancellations & deposits

Scope

This policy applies to paid consultations with Clear Ledger Advisory — retirement income planning, investment portfolio reviews, tax-efficient savings guidance, and inheritance & estate conversations. It does not cover product purchases, investment platforms, or goods we do not sell.

Deposits

Engagements typically require a deposit stated in the engagement letter (commonly 30–50% of the fixed fee). The deposit secures meeting time and initial document review. The balance is due on delivery of the written recommendations.

Full refund eligibility

A full refund of fees paid is available if we cancel the engagement before discovery work begins, or if we are unable to deliver the agreed written recommendations for reasons within our control. You may also receive a full refund if you cancel in writing before we commence paid work and before the discovery meeting is held, provided at least five clear working days’ notice is given.

Partial refunds

If you cancel after discovery has started but before recommendations are delivered, we may retain a portion of the fee reflecting time already spent on statement review and modelling, and refund the remainder. The retained amount will not exceed the value of work completed.

Non-refundable items

Time already spent on discovery, modelling, or drafting after the engagement start date is generally non-refundable. Third-party costs you instruct separately (for example solicitor fees) are outside this policy.

Rescheduling

Discovery or walkthrough meetings may be rescheduled once without charge with at least two working days’ notice. Repeated short-notice changes may incur a reasonable administration fee stated in writing.

No-shows

If you miss a scheduled meeting without notice, we may charge for the reserved hour or deduct it from the prepaid deposit. We will offer one alternative slot within fourteen days.

Work already started

Once modelling or drafting has begun, cancellations are treated under the partial refund rules above. Completed written recommendations are not refundable after delivery, except where required by law or where we agree the deliverable materially failed to match the engagement letter.

Refund process & timing

Email hello@cognitivesolutionsnet.digital with your name, engagement reference, and reason. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within fourteen working days of approval.
